How To Remove Yakima Lock Core Without Key Written By Sommerfield Cliveher Monday, June 27, 2022 Add Comment Edit ndub86 [OP] Well-Known Member Joined: Jan viii, 2022 Member: #94764 Letters: 170 Gender: Male First Name: Neal Dallas, TX Vehicle: '13 Double Cab 4X4 TRD Sport Hey all, I lost my keys a few weeks agone and didn't take spares for all of my Yakima stuff - so I take 2 unlike things I can't go into (my roof rack locks and a skybox). I noticed here: https://www.yakima.com/replacement-sks-lock-core that you can buy a replacement cadre for $12 (cheaper than the locksmith opening it so I can remove the core and find the number). I'm thinking of drilling out two locks (1 from the rack and 1 from the skybox), getting the cadre numbers, buying replacement cores and keys according to the number to salvage a picayune cash from having a locksmith open it. Anyone have experience drilling out these locks and have whatever advice? I would contact Yakima and see what they say BEFORE drilling. Yakima Customer Service is very helpful.
